Zone Districts

The Industrial Green designation is quite interesting and fits perfectly with our plans on Hubbard Road.  It would actually result in a larger building for us as the side yard setback would be reduced to 10 feet from 15, so when we put our addition on it can be 5 feet wider. 


I read through all of the proposed zoning plans the other night.  Overall it is better than what we have now, but a bit too nitpicky in a lot of areas.  Way too many specific rules micromanaging development instead of a broader set of guidelines to follow.  The specificity of the rules don't match the reality of what Youngstown looks like.   How can the zoning dept. get so worked up on little nitpicky rules for a new building when the next five on the street are condemned, burned out hulks that nobody takes action over?

In 40 years, when this code will still probably be in effect, those condemned buildings will be gone.
