The half wits that we elect to Congress

Once you start watching C-SPAN for a while, you can't help come to the conclusion that any blame fool can become a Congressman provided he  can read the scripts his staffers write for him. Being a grinning ninny helps, and being a con artist is even better.

And yet so many people actually put all their hopes and dreams in these half wits.  Become a libertarian, demand that they just leave you alone and do for yourself!

98% never actually read the bills that they are voting on.

95% never sit through floor debates on the bills they vote on.

99% rush in to cast their vote then rush back out.

Of those who actually are on the floor during debates on legislation 75% are so busy either talking to other members or playing with their Blackberrys.

99% submit writtem material to be incerted in the Special Orders section of the Congressional Record as if they actually spoke, but were actually not there to deliver it in person.

We recognize that House and Senate Committees are meeting during the day and have to be called to the floor for votes, but when they have to ask what is being voted on, it's obvious that they don't even look at the House and Senate schedule which is posted every day that the two bodies are in session.

House members that do come to the floor congregate in back of the chamber chatting, paying absolutely no attention to the debates.
