sarge, ss and unemployment were concepts that the Bolsheviks supported in the October 1917 surprise. teddy Roosevelt had the same philosophy as the red October participants. republicans and the democrats were never on board with these issues until the great depression of the 1930's woke up these two sleeping giants. a progressive california lawmaker back in the early 1900's proposed an ss concept that met with deaf ears from both parties. rr, i never supported a healthcare plan that was free but the payments for this healthcare plan can come from a national sales that IS DESIGNATED ONLY FOR NATIONAL HEALTHCARE PLAN. too many times levies and speciaality taxes wind up in the general fund to support pet projects for certain groups.

We're wasting our time Rick. Dennis either does not care, or can not understand that for someone to get health care for free, someone else will be forced to pay for it, which is no different than being forced to do work without being paid for it. Forcing someone to work without compensation is slavery. Dennis is willing to support slavery to achieve his altruism.

But that should come as no surprise, because the principles that drive Dennis are the same as the core principles of Communism, which of course subjected millions to lives of slavery and bondage.

I have never been part in the death of another human being.   Thank you for thinking that I do have such power, but alas I do not. 

The conservative philosophy, that of making people help themselves, is perhaps the single greatest thing that can be taught to another person.   Just look at half of the country whining and complaining that they need the fruits of another's labor to survive, while the other half of the country just wants to keep the fruits of their labor and cannot understand why the other half thinks they are entitled to wealth they did not create.

Health care cannot be a right.  A right cannot exist that causes another individual to go into servitude to provide that right.  This may be a bit over your head as it requires a deeper level of understanding of the basic nature of human rights.  But it is commonly held that a right cannot exist that requires another human to give up one of their rights. 

Now as I already stated healthcare IS AVAILABLE TO YOU!  Yes Dennis, you could go to a clinic or hospital right now and they will fix whatever ails you, keep you from dying to the best of their abilities, and repair any injuries you may have.  you are not entitled to the fruits of others labor without compensating them for it!  Why do you have this need to take from others for your own selfish interests?  You display the same GREED that you accuse the rich of having.  You want to take advantage of other people, pure and simple.  Pay YOUR bills!

iwasthere, healthcare is available to everyone.   But there is this one catch, you have to pay for it.   You are asking that someone spend their time and resources to care for you when your are ill or sick.  That time has to be rewarded and those resources have to be purchased.  Since it is you that require the care it is you who should pay what its worth to obtain it.

what is so wrong with having healthcare for everyone. i have to laugh at people who knock people who back socialist programs. anyone that has recieved assistance from the government in the past, present and future is a socialist too esp the people who recieving a social security check, unemployment, and other government assistant is a socialist through and through.

Very good points Rick. Another example to buttress our argument is how the price of Lasik surgery has come down. While the cost of health care goes through the roof, procedures that require people to pay out of their own pockets because health insurance doesn't cover them get cheaper and cheaper. From about $4,000 per eye to under $800.
