Yes, imagine your grandfather who kept his mineral right for you when he sold the farm and now the new landowner is crying that you should give him the mineral rights for free.  Also, imagine you leased your mother's mineral rights to support her in the nursing home and now the neighbor across the street 150 feet away is calling the Mayor to stop you and prevent your mother from a gain on her investment.  Ayd Rand is right, "Tax yourselves!"

Liberty Township in cooperation with Liberty Schools is showing the Emmy award winning documentary "Split Estate" on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 7:00 pm at the Liberty High School, 1 Leopard Way, Youngstown, Ohio. 

Every Ohio citizen will be impacted by the drilling boom taking place in our state.  Imagine not owning the mineral rights under your land, and an energy company drilling for natural gas 150 feet from your front door.  Imagine having little recourse, other than accepting an unregulated industry in your backyard.  Split Estate maps a tragedy in the making, as citizens in the path of the same drilling boom in the Rocky Mountain West struggle against the erosion of their civil liberties, their communities and their health.  Ohioans must learn from what's taking place in other states.
