Title: "Historic Company Homes"
Post by: Youngstownshrimp on October 19, 2010, 12:28:00 PM
There is a photo floating around here and there of the historic company homes in Campbell.  The photo shows the new state-of-the-art in prefabrication then of concrete residences surrounded by farming in Campbell.  Plans have been tossed around for over a decade of renovating the old homes sadly, we have failed.  Massive subsidy was provided to a portion of the homes that have been renovated but it failed to spark the financial ability to invest in the rest.  Remembering the photo, exudes an idea to utilize all the once again vacant land in Campbell for farming?  Can the historic concrete structures usage be converted to grain silos Ala a reversal to what the Quaker shops in Akron accomplished?  There is no more demand for residential structures in Campbell and Youngstown, farm the land again and use the historic homes for grain silos.
