Members of one west side block watch are happy today. The block's problem family moved away this weekend. Hopefully the move will put an end for the need to call the police to respond to fights and other problems.
Unfortunately there's a blockwatch out there somewhere that's blissfully unaware that this family is moving to their block.
Why?Town, you are correct.
Some landlord will not have checked the new tenant's history and another neighborhood will suffer.
Do we need a tenant black list?
I've mentioned this before in the past, but Youngstown needs to take a serious look
at a landlord/tenant registry.
Bad tenants here in Montgomery County, MD are reported to the registry as well
as bad landlords. Landlords can check the registry before renting to new tenants.
The county has used this process, year after year, to steadily push bad/problem
tenants OUT of the county by NOT renting to them.
WOW that would be such a great idea - it would defiantly be a good thing not only for the landlords but also for the neighbors too. A real win/win situation and worth any effort on the part of city to implement for it's own good.
