The Northeast Ohio Food Hub (HUB) is starting a Kitchen Incubator at Stuart Place, an historic commercial building one block north of YSU at 901 Elm St., recently purchased by Common Wealth, Inc. This Kitchen Incubator will provide food entrepreneurs with a certified kitchen where value-added products—cookies, breads, jellies, salsas, pastas, soups and other recipes—can be produced for marketing.
Styled similar to the Youngstown Business Incubator, it will provide space, equipment, support and training for the startup & growth of businesses. By increasing healthy, locally grown & value-added produce to the community, schools, grocers, restaurants, and farmers' markets, the Kitchen Incubator will:
· grow green jobs & businesses
· increase our local farmers' sales
· bring fresh food closer to you
Thanks to the Youngstown Foundation & Ohio Community Development Finance Fund for development grant awards for the kitchen Incubator.
