Hello!I am looking for info on the recently demolished Washington school.Old pictures,stories and info dealing with it's construction are especially wanted.Thanks,memook@netzero.com.

The best place to start would be the Arms Museum which has a huge collection of photographs of Youngstown as well as information on local schools.

Thanks for the tip Kitten.I already did that and got some useful info.What I am looking for is personal stories,details of it's construction and old photographs.The school,built in 1913, was the first"modern" school built on the westside.It was designed by architects Kling and Zenk and featured electric lights and a poured concrete roof, both newer technologies at the time.Washington school was and is an important part of the history of the westside of Youngstown.
