The city of Sharon, PA has initiated a program to turn off many street lights in the downtown area as a way to cut the city's electric bill.
While in downtown Youngstown the other day, I noticed that several street lights on North Phelps Street were actually ON in the middle of the day.
If I'm not mistaken, the street lights are controlled by Ohio Edison. Councilman John could best explain how that works in Youngstown. I do agree though that it's silly to have street lights on during the day.
