Post by: yfdgricker on March 28, 2002, 05:23:52 PM
The Youngstown, Ohio Fire Department is geared up for the arrivial of two new additions to it's firefighting fleet with the delivery of two brand new Pierce Contender Fire Engines. The trucks, made at Pierce's Florida plant, will arrive in Youngstown the first week of April. The new trucks will go to Station No.2 at Indianola and to Station on the Southside and to No.7 at Madison and Elm on the city's north side. A new rescue truck for the department is scheduled for delivery in September of this year. Check www.youngstownfire.com for more details and up to date info on what's happening with the YFD.

@ForumManager, thank you for the kind comment and good choice in bulletin boards :)

An update, the 2 new Youngstown Fire trucks were delivered to the city on Tuesday April 9, 2002. It will take about two weeks to put the finishing touches on them (such as logos, special shelving and other fancy things the department needs to put special on their trucks). Firefighters will get some training on the rigs before they are put in service. They should be responding to calls by Monday April 21st. Check out www.youngstownfire.com for photos and additional information.
