Title: Garden District Project

Work is taking place at Maryland and Mahoning in the Garden District of the West Side.   A shovel is removing dirt from the lot between the corner and the gas station.  What is being built there?

I hope something is being built, but it's very possible that they are just levelling the site.  The stone walls might have been unstable. ???

Last night I drove past this same location.  The stone wall at the front of the property has also been removed.

Mahoning Avenue east of Belle Vista has some very interesting stone walls along the sidewalks.

Question
Were these walls created during the WPA era?
