Animal Charity is leaving its South Avenue location and moving to Boardman.
Question
Did the South Avenue Neighborhood Development group know about this move before today?
Yesterday Animal Charity held a ceremony at their new location in Boardman. It looked as though they had about 15 employees.
That's 15 fewer people paying income tax to the city of Youngstown.
A better question would be:
Is there anything they actually could have done to prevent it?
Probably not.
They never called me or asked if the city would help them. The city did renew a contract with them this year. Remember years ago they bought the property across the street, then tore the building down. We have other large buildings that are vacant on South Ave. That they could of rented or bought. I think that they just wanted to move out
