How many remember this downtown eatery?
Back when the steel mills were going full blast the bars and restraunts on the Square has cages inside their doors where workers could get their checks cashed, and on pay days they were busy all day.
Raver's was located in the Tod Hotel building.
Ravers was also located at the corner of Phelps and Front St
Does anyone remember the Wickwood Restaurant on Wick near the Masonic Lodge. It was a fancy restaurant that served great dinners. My Grandparents took Mother and I there one time.

My friend Fred Childress the Vindicator theater editor told me that Raver's when in the Tod Hotel use to have after the theater meet and greets for the show people appearing at the Palace and Park theaters.
I worked at Anchor Cigar 1963 to 65 and I delivered to ravers at that location, it then became the Italian Rest. and then the Pantry
That was behind WFMJ wasn't it?
At that time Anchor Cigar was at 714 South Ave., two other companies , Daughtery Davis and Central Candy were on Front St.
My Mother worked at Daughtery Davis. She ran the candy department in the 1950's and early 1960's
