Title: Being PC in today’s world
Post by: Towntalk on December 29, 2009, 12:03:38 PM
A man was on an airplane ... that is an undisputed fact.

An explosive device was detonated ... that is a fact.

The man was subdued by a passenger sitting behind him ... that is a fact.

The man was injured in his failed attempt to blow up the airplane ... that is a fact.

The man's father had earlier warned officials about his son ... that is a fact.

Part of explosive device was sewn into man's underwear ... that is a fact.

The man was barred from entering the UK ... that is a fact.

So why with all these facts at hand would the news media say:

"Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab is being held for allegedly trying to blow up a flight carrying 300 passengers on Christmas Day."

I for one am fed up with the press bending over backwards to be so POLITICAL CORRECT in the wake of overwhelming facts.

If a member of the news media had been on that plane and it had exploded would they be PC?

Towntalk, it's really no use. Even Mr Obama stated that the suspect allegedly tried to ignite an explosive device.
