Title: Dumping At The Recycling Station
Post by: jay on November 30, 2009, 03:15:44 PM
This caught my eye as I traveled on S. Meridian Road Today.  Somebody dumped about two dozen computer monitors in front of the Green Team's Meridian Road Recycling bin.

These containers are not for the recycling of electronics.

the green team should have a place where electronics canbe dropoff 24/7 instead of several times a year for electronic drives.

For the past 2 years i have belonged to an on line recycling group which is where these monitors should have been posted.

I've given away a lot of things that people could use instead of throwing it in the trash.

And received a few things I could use.

The Green Team charges $10.00 per monitor to take them.  There is at least $200 to $300 worth of fees to "properly" dispose of these.  Once electronic scrap has a positive value the problem of dumping will magically disappear.
