Councilwoman Gillam promised the building would be demolished in three weeks if no asbestos is found inside. If asbestos is found, an additional three weeks would be needed for the demolition.
Mahoning Valley Greens March with ACTION Group to fight Blight in Youngstown, Ohio

Members of the Mahoning Valley Greens Party in Youngstown, Ohio marched yesterday with the Southwest Neighbooorhood Association ACTION Group and local clergy to help fight blight in Youngstown, Ohio. The march was to identify troubled areas, increase public awareness, increase public support for the southwest side of Youngstown, and to work toward solutions to tearing down blighted buildings that were turning into drug havens. The march got attendion from city officials who vowed to tear down a condemned former funeral home that was now a crack house within the next six weeks.

the litton funeral bldg has been abandoned for over thirty years. where were the city leaders all this time? is the city going after the property's owners to have them pay back the city demolition costs?
