Title: Theft by Dog?

I was traveling south on Schenley Avenue today near McGuffey School.  I soon noticed a Pitbull with a stuffed animal in his mouth running toward the street.  The dog ran diagonal in front of my car as I slowed.   Did the dog steal the stuffed animal?
