Title: How Many Children for Halloween This Year?
Post by: jay on October 31, 2023, 04:12:55 AM
I always like to count how many children come to my house for Halloween each year.

I'll let you know the number at the end of the night.

For the first time ever, I did not have any children stop for Halloween.

Perhaps they all went to Canfield for Halloween this year.   ;D

Now I have over $20.00 worth of candy to eat or give away at another event.

I'll probably distribute the candy during Youngstown's Holiday Parade.

We had about 35 kids stop by.  We saw several more kids up at the houses near South Schenley, but we were the only house on our end of the street passing out candy.  Our house is halfway between Schenley and Bears Den.

As many of the older generations are leaving our neighborhood, the younger ones don't want to pass out candy.  They just want to collect it with their kids, or not participate at all.

We try to welcome new neighbors like the older ones welcomed us.  True neighborhoods seem to be fading away.

A downside to Halloween.

Today I went for a walk and picked up numerous candy wrappers along the way.
