For the last week, painters have been working on the "Welcome To The West Side" sign on the east side of Hacket's Bar on lower Mahoning Avenue.
It is impressive.
The sign itself is passable, as signs go, but for some reason WKBN calls it a mural.

I'm not sure who exactly it is welcoming to the West Side considering it's not really on any edge of the West Side and faces people most likely leaving their job downtown and probably driving to their homes in a suburb.
I'd also like to know how this "rescues" anyone since it's at least partially paid for by the American Rescue Plan.
