Saturday, April 8 (Easter Eve)
I shopped in a small store today. Because it was the day before Easter, there were many people in the store.
I finally entered the checkout line. There were eight shoppers in front of me. At this point, another store employee came forward and opened a second checkout line. The employee announced that this line was for cash-only customers. Those in the first line started to look back at each other to see who would be the cash-only customer. All the looking ended with me. I had less than ten dollars in merchandise and I had a ten dollar bill in my wallet. I quickly moved to the second cashier and was checked out in less than a minute.
