Title: Fire Destroys House, Nearby Fire Station Often Closed

Yesterday a fire destroyed a house located across from Chaney High School on S. Hazelwood Avenue. 

Many west side residents may not know that No. 15 Fire Station, located about a half mile away on McCollum Road, has been closed several times this past week.  Posts on the Rocky Ridge Neighborhood Facebook show that people are very upset with the mayor's policy of closing the No.15 Fire Station.

The video in this recent TV news story shows the fire at this house on S. Hazelwood Avenue.

A tracked shovel is now on the property.  The house will probably be demolished tomorrow.

The house was demolished on Thursday, April 21.  All that is needed is to fill the basement and level the land.
