Title: Another Power Outage On The West Side
Post by: jay on February 22, 2022, 09:43:16 PM
There was another power outage on portions of the west side tonight.  It started around 8:30 p.m. and lasted for an hour.

This was the fifth power outage in the last month.

And then the power went out again a few minutes later.

It went off and on at least 5 times between 8:30 and midnight at our house.

Ohio Edison is blaming it on a tree bringing down a power line.  One tree cutting power to 8,000 customers?

I am also getting annoyed with the frequent one minute outages that mess up the electronics in the house.

If you think it's bad now just watch what happens as local electric vehicle ownership goes up.

Story on WKBN - OE says the power outages are due to issues beyond their control like car accidents and wind.  Austintown trustees are having a public meeting on Monday, Feb 28, to address the issue.

What are Lauren McNally and Mike Ray doing about it?

Story of WFMJ - OE has found a defective piece of equipment in the substation and hope to have it fixed in a few days.
