Post by: jay on July 24, 2009, 06:28:00 AM
Anyone interested in historic preservation is encouraged to join the effort to preserve and maintain the Powers Cemetery Plot in the Pine Hollow area of the south side.

To help, please call John R. Swierz at 330-788-5114.

The trail up to the cemetery needs some more permanent work done on it, perhaps some pea gravel or something, not just being cleared every once in a while, also, the kiosk at the base of the hill needs some work, maybe more information about the Powers can be put in it, does anyone know who maintains this kiosk?

That was and Eagle Scout project and that is why I would like to get a group of interested citizens  together to I.D the needed improvements, engage the Seventh Ward Citizens Coalition to apply for grants and finally to get people committed to doing the work. This cemetery is our history.
