Title: New Youngstown Coin
Post by: jay on July 21, 2009, 08:18:05 PM
There is a new means of exchange in Youngstown.  The Youngstown, Ohio wooden coin will be placed in circulation at the North Side Farmers' Market this weekend.

I wonder if these coins will be of interest to coin collectors.

Well I don't think my metal detector will find them.

There are folks that collect this type of coin and you see them on eBay quite often but usually they are antique.

Growing up, my neighbor always advised, "Don't you take no wooden nickel!"

The downtown farmer's market also takes these coins.
