Title: Traffic Signal Broken, Mahoning At Schenley
Post by: jay on November 16, 2020, 01:50:20 PM
The traffic signal at the corner of Mahoning Avenue and Schenley was not working properly after 11:00 a.m. today.
The light was switched to blink yellow for east/west traffic on Mahoning and blink red for north/south traffic on Schenley.  Many cars with the blinking yellow light came to complete stop anyway.

On one hand, this seems very acceptable. On the other hand, it can end up causing more problems (accidents) especially in places with large intersections and heavy traffic.

Thankfully this particular location falls closer to acceptable as long as no one with the red light expects everyone to stop on yellow.

Sounds like the traffic signal was working fine. It's the driver's that aren't working properly.

Many signals in Youngstown should be removed as they are not necessary.
