I was driving east on Mahoning Avenue today. I noticed that four or five large photos were on the west side of the former Sparkle Market building. The largest photo appears to show the handshake of George Shotgun Shuba and Jackie Robinson. Shotgun Shuba was a west side resident who played baseball in the major leagues.

The photo display on the former Sparkle Market is a project of the Rocky Ridge Neighborhood Association.
The official unveiling will be held Wednesday, October 28, 10:00 a.m. in the west parking lot of the market.
Public is welcome to attend but practice social distancing.
