Title: Mattress On South Schenley Avenue
Post by: jay on June 05, 2020, 03:22:32 PM
Earlier today a mattress was in the middle of South Schenley in the 900 block.  It must have fallen off a passing truck.

I'm surprised that there aren't a dozen different people warning everyone that you should never stop your car anywhere near a mattress in the road and definitely don't even think that you're going to drag it out of the way of passing motorists because their friend's sister's son was supposed to be picked up by his girlfriend but unfortunately she never made it because she saw a mattress in the road. She didn't even stop completely, she just slowed down but it was unbelievable the number of bed bugs that swarmed her car. Some of them pulled her cell phone directly from her hands while the  others had their way with her. She was so distraught that she is now unable to properly function as an average person and will never try to associate herself with anything anywhere ever again.

Update

Someone must have pulled the mattress off the road and placed in on the devil strip in front of a house.  Obviously no one came by to pick it up.

Now the homeowner has the problem.  The trash hauler will not pick up a mattress unless it is wrapped in plastic to prevent the spread of bedbugs.  I don't think the homeowner will be happy or will go out to buy the plastic wrap.

Maybe the mattress will "blow over" to another yard.
