Because of the Coronavirus outbreak in Ohio, the Mahoning Valley St. Patrick's Day Parade has been cancelled.
The parade was to have taken place in Boardman on Sunday, March 15.
Just think how many thousands of pounds of candy won't be purchased for the parade.
Candy is usually given to children lining the parade route.
This whole corona thing is getting ridiculous.
From what I've heard the majority of any deaths have been people whose immune system was weak for any other reason.
Two women my wife works with had most, if not all of the symptoms from the middle of January through the middle of February. It was so early that no doctor ever even thought about corona. Whatever it was they both survived.
We should all take the warnings seriously. It is easy to say as President Trump originally did that it is a "news media hoax". Even if you are young and healthy, but have a close family member who is older and more susceptible, you are putting that family member at risk if YOU get the virus.
We all need to act responsibly, heed the CDC warnings, and be SMART.

If you purchased candy for the St. Patrick's Day Parade, save the candy and give it out at the Youngstown Holiday Parade in December.
