Title: Fifth Avenue Drug Store Closes
Post by: jay on January 13, 2020, 06:20:29 PM
The drug store next to Stambaugh Auditorium has closed.

I heard weeks ago that it was going to close because of excessive theft.

Where did you hear this?

Everything I've read said it was closing due to insufficient sales.  And, as it always seemed to be busy, we--the neighbors--assumed they meant pharmacy sales.

I heard this from a north side resident toward the end of December.

Some people go to stores to buy stuff while other people go to steal stuff. As the percentage of either increases, the percentage of the other will decrease.  This can happen regardless of whether the total group shrinks, grows or stays the same.

All I know is that my purchases in any drug store are well over 90% pharmacy related due to the pricing of anything else. And no I'm not stealing stuff.
