Title: Speed Trap On Kirk Road
Post by: jay on April 29, 2009, 05:49:35 AM
Residents on Kirk Road have asked Police Chief Jimmy Hughes to enforce the speed limit on the area of Kirk Road near Kirkmere and St. Christine schools.  Many drivers have been exceeding the speed limit during school hours.  Neighbors fear a child will be hit by a speeding car.

What is the speed limit and how fast are the "speeders" driving?

The school zone speed limit is 20 mph.  Several neighbors claim some cars are traveling over 50 mph.

What they need is the FLASHING school zone light with posted hours of obeying school zone 20mph....I drive that way all the time and I'm never sure because nothing is marked.
