I attended the fundraiser today for the benefit of the Youngstown K-9 Unit.
A basket raffle was also held. One of our councilmen donated a prize which consisted of a $25 gift card to a restaurant located in Austintown.
What are we to do when a city councilman won't even support our city's restaurants/businesses?
Vote em out!
Was the gift card paid for by the councilman or donated by the restaurant?
Why would it matter?
Is this youngstown.info/forum or mahoningvalley.info/forum?
The restaurant gift card was donated by the councilman.
Because I live in Youngstown, I have to pay the city income tax and city property taxes. Part of my income tax goes to pay the salary of the councilmen. At the very least, I expect all councilmen and other city employees to support our city's businesses.
Youngstown restaurants need all the help they can get. (I know of another downtown restaurant expecting to close in the next few weeks.)
I'll have to reword my question.
Was the card (that the councilman donated to the raffle) actually paid for by the councilman or is it possibe the restaurant gave it to him, free of charge?
