Post by: yfdgricker on August 26, 2005, 05:45:31 PM
The Youngstown Fire Department will be holding a Fire Prevention Day and Open House in conjunction with Fire Prevention Week on Sunday, October 2, 2005. The event will run from 1pm - 4pm at the main downtown fire station at 420 Martin Luther King Jr, Blvd. Firefighters will be on hand for tours and to show off apparatus and equipment. There will be an auto extrication demo and several city, county and state fire and emergency organizations will be on hand passing out literature. Be sure to stop by the youngsotwnfire.com table and take a look at some Fire Department history! Hope to see you there!

P.S. If anyone attends and takes any photos of the activities that day, please send a copy to youngstownfire.com. I'd love to add them in a gallery!

Thanks!

The Youngstown Fire Department held their Fire Prevention Day and Open House Sunday, October 2nd. Several of the Valley's TV stations and Newspapers showed up to cover the event. About 100 people attended. This year's event featured a rapelling demonstration by the Techical Rescue Operations Team and a chili contest.

This years theme was 'Use Candles with Care'. October 9-15 is National Fire Prevention Week.

More photos of the event can be found at http://www.youngstownfire.com in the YFD in Action galleries.
