I can't wait to see Santa Clause wrapped in swaddling clothes and laying in a manger.  cheeze....what happened to Youngstown?  No Nativity Scene?  No wonder all the kids leave Youngstown.  No belief in Christmas, no jobs.  Have fun with the tree.  Did you ever wonder who MADE that tree?  It sure in the heck wasn't Santa Clause.

The City of Youngstown along with First Night Youngstown have set the 2008 Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony for Friday, December 5th at 4:30pm in Central Square, downtown Youngstown.

Brooke Slanina and Bob Barko of First Night Youngstown will serve as Masters of Ceremony. The event will include a welcoming address from City Hall, an entertainment sample from First Night Youngstown, presentation of the Youngstown Community Recognition Award, Santa's arrival and the traditional lighting of the Christmas Tree.

Hot chocolate will be provided to all those in attendance by Touch of the Moon Candy Saloon of downtown Youngstown. Representatives from Second Harvest Food Bank will be on hand to accept non-perishable food item donations.

First Night Youngstown will have sign up forms for those who would like to serve as volunteers for the 9th annual family friendly New Years celebration of the arts, which will take place December 31st in downtown Youngstown. Entrance buttons may also be purchased at the event.
