I looked at some pocket change today. I found a 1954 penny.
Where has it been for the last 65 years?
::)
I just topped my previous old penny find.
Today I received some change at a restaurant. Among the change was a penny from 1920.
Where has this penny been for 99 years?
I'm starting to think that someone got another person's old penny collection and just spent it or rolled the pennies and deposited them at a bank.
The 1954 penny didn't seem like much more than any other dark colored copper penny. I see some near the same year every so often, and from the 1940s every once in a while.
The 1920 penny, on the other hand, is something I don't know if I ever noticed. I'm sure I saw some as a child in the 1970s but I was too young to bother looking at dates back then, candy was more important
And I wouldn't be surprised if your theory about how it ended up in your change is correct.
