Where's the best price for aluminum cans? We have about a trash can full and want to put the money towards our rainy day fund.
There is a scrap yard on Poland Avenue near Powersdale Avenue in Youngstown . Several weeks ago the sign in front indicated aluminum cans were 70 cents per pound. I'm not sure if the price has changed with the downturn in the economy.
Take a look on www.switchboard.com. I used the search phrase "scrap metal" and
a location of "Youngstown, OH" and a whole bunch of listings came up. here are a
few of them. Most of them appear to be centered around the Poland Avenue and
Division Street areas, but there are also some on the West side.
I'm sure that if you called them, they could give you the current exchange rates
for aluminum cans, etc.
