Title: Downtown History Center
Post by: jay on August 22, 2008, 05:42:33 AM
The Ross Radio building on West Federal Street is being converted into the new home for the Mahoning Valley History Center.  Workers recently attached a new sign to the east side of the building.

This center will be a truely great asset to the downtown area, and as a local history buff, I look forward to its compleation and opening.

Word. There is strong possibility that a replica ice cream counter (from back in the Good Humor days) will installed on the first floor. How awesome would that be?

Fantastic because judging from the pictures I have of Burts Icecream Parlor it was really something.

By the way, on the upper right hand corner of the building facing Federal Street is Burts sign ... see photo ... too bad that it could not have been restored.

Maybe not restored but it can be repainted.
