Over the weekend, a man was shot and killed on W. Indianola Avenue on the city's south side.

I read that this is the city's 20th homicide this year.

I have been told that he was a cousin of the previous homicide, where the young man was shot and had his throat slit.

I find the barbaric nature of that one especially disturbing.

That young man who was shot and had his throat slit, what was his name? I think that my friend might have known him but I didn't want to give false information.

Does anyone know how many homicides we had at this point last year? What were the total homicides last year? Are there more homicides in the winter months than others?

What I'm getting at is can we expect a few more or a lot more.

I just checked some of the Forum's postings from 2007.  The city had at least 39 homicides last year.
