Title: Stains On Sidewalk
Post by: jay on August 06, 2008, 06:26:23 AM
While visiting the downtown farmers' market yesterday, I noticed some stains on the sidewalk in front of the Chase Bank.  If I recall correctly, a food vendor was on this location during the recently held Italian Festival.  The red stains appear to be from tomato sauce.  The dark spots are probably from cooking oils.

Does anyone remember the controversy from years ago when the "hot dog lady" was accused of staining the walkway in front of the Mahoning County Courthouse?

Yes, this is an issue we are going to need to address next year. The grease stains are unacceptable. To help correct the situation at present, I'm going to see if the Water Dept. can do a power wash of several locations in the central square as they do for StreetScape.
