Title: A PROPOSAL
Post by: kitten44505 on June 22, 2005, 03:29:39 PM
A PROPOSAL
[/b]

As we all know, the Paramount/Liberty Theater building needs to be demolished.

As we also know, many folks have expressed opposition to the elemination of the Plaza.

I propose that once the building is torn down, the land be turned into a mini park landscaped with trees and shrubbery where downtown workers can have their lunch, and where, on weekends there can be outdoors events, and that this mini park be named "The John Young Municipal Park".

StreetScape would be charged with it's upkeep.

Around the perimiter would be a garden of trees and flowers, and inside the park would be benches, a lawn, and in the center a water feature.

The total space would involve the land that the old Paramount and Lerner Shop was on.

I think you sound like a HIPPY stuck in the 1960s ERA!!!I think screw the park and make a parking lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We need at least 500 more spaces up there and that will be perfect there!
