Title: Is This Youngstown's Future?
Post by: jay on November 30, 2018, 12:19:59 PM
I stumbled upon this video about Harrisburg today.

There are several aspects that seem to apply to Youngstown.

What is your opinion?

I don't think so.  The city did buy 20 Federal Place, but I think that was a good decision, as it is a center of activity (good and bad, LOL) in downtown.  If they didn't, and we had a large, empty building there, instead, I don't think we would have seen as much progress downtown.  The construction of the amphitheater is controversial, but I'm of the opinion that that project is going to be a positive for the quality of life in the city, and will add to the momentum of development downtown.

I don't think this current mayor's Administration and Council has the knowledge to guide the City in to complete solventacy for the future. If they are serious that we making changes once again into Charter by having four seats and one at large and then cutting the mayor's pay and other department heads salariesand also downsizing the clerk of courts which is bloated with employees by 20 or 30 unnecessary office workers.
