Title: Chevy Cobalt - Xtra Fuel Economy
Post by: jay on April 28, 2008, 07:50:05 PM
I was pleased to learn that Chevrolet has improved the fuel economy of the Cobalt to get 36 miles per gallon on the highway using a manual transmission and incorporating a few other technical changes.  This more fuel efficient car is known as the Cobalt XFE (Xtra Fuel Economy).   With the price of gasoline above $3.50 per gallon, this new efficiency could translate into additional sales for the Lordstown produced Cobalt.

Now if they would just offer a combination flex-fuel engine, mated to a hybrid power plant,
it would sell like hot cakes - AND get way better gas mileage.  A Hybrid gas/electric
cobalt would probably get around 45-50 miles per gallon at it's weight.
