Post by: jay on February 18, 2008, 05:19:58 PM
Were any downtown restaurants open today, Presidents Day?

I walked past four downtown restaurants today.  None were open at 11:30 a.m.

Perhaps they figured that if the government and school employees weren't going to be working and courts were closed that there would be little business.

This just proves that there is not enough private economic activity in downtown Youngstown at this time.

Many of them were closed for other holidays and I even spoke to a business owner who said they closed because there was just not enough foot traffic with schools being closed and other businesses and that.
