What kind of hokey nonsense is this?  It already exists and is called Capitalism! Its amazing just how inept our schools are that people don't know how to recognize capitalism and then go out and reivent what already has been proven to work.

Go read some of Walter Williams's articles and you will see that the Time Bank is capitalism at its simplest.

What point are you trying to make about capitalism?  I'm not following.
It is an opportunity for people to trade services in a trusted environment.  Timebank expects background checks for childcare.  People with skills are often out of work. Retired folks and stay at home moms might have valuable skills to trade. It is an opportunity for them to connect with each other.

They used to call those people "friends". Friends help friends.  You don't need a gimmick such as a timebank to help someone out.

Capitalism is about exchanging goods and services for money and using that money to buy other goods and services.  All the timebank does is replace a Dollar Bill with a Time Dollar but its the same concept.

Unlike the market economy where people compete for a limited quantity of dollars, Time Dollars are created on the spot when people agree to trade time for Time Dollars.
