AUSTINTOWN — Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Center will be the site of a benefit sock hop from 7-10 p.m. Jan. 19 for an injured Austintown police officer and his family.
Knights of Columbus 3930 will sponsor the dance for Patrolman Ross J. Linert, 48, who was burned over 40 percent of his body in a Nov. 11 crash. BYOB. Set-ups will be provided, and there will be pizza, hot dogs, chips and pretzels.
Also featured will be a D.J., Chinese auction, 50-50 raffle, door prizes and prizes for the best '50s and '60s attire. Tickets cost $10 per person. Call Tony Velasco at (330) 799-7751 to reserve tickets.
