The people retiring from the city of Youngstown were on the payroll before the residency rules were passed by the voters. If a retired worker lives outside the city limits, would that person now be subject to the residency rules when rehired by the city?
I think a lot of folks on this board have already shared the opinion that
the city should not re-hire employees who have opted to take advantage
of early retirement incentives...but....
If the city IS going to be foolish enough to re-hire these folks, then I
feel that they MUST be required to live within the city limits in order
to be re-hired by the city.
The fact that they were "grand-fathered" previously should not provide
them with any special consideration with regard to re-hire by the city.
