Title: Court of Appeals Building
Post by: kitten44505 on March 23, 2005, 03:20:43 PM
Ground breaking for the new Court of Appeals Building took place today, and according to Channel 33 News the building will be up next year.

The station showed an artest rendering of the building and to be perfectly honest, I do not see how they can get it done that quickly. Don't they have to demolish three buildings and prep the land before they can start construction?

Whatever, with the addition of this beautiful new building, West Federal will be something we can all be proud of.

We owe the Court of Appeals Judges a deep debt of gratitude for OK'ing the project.

Eight counties are part of the Court of Appeals, and the Judges certainly could have selected a site in another county.

The cost of the project? $3.8 Million.

According to todays Vindicator, the 7th Court of Appeals building will be located on the empty space between the old Kress Building and the First Educator Building, and will be two stories high.

This explains why it can go up so fast.

The cost will be $3.8 million.

This is great news for downtown Youngstown.

The work of constructing the new building will generate
jobs for the duration of the construction.

It also means that there will probably be a slight boost
in business for the downtown restaurants/coffee shops,
etc while the construction workers are doing their daily work.
