The voting key pads developed by Turning Technologies, a downtown incubator tenant, were used this evening at the Ninth Annual Poetry Slam. The Slam was held at the Victorian Players in downtown Youngstown. In addition to the panel of five judges, each member of the audience was given a key pad from which to cast a vote. The average score from the audience was counted as the score of a sixth judge. A professor from YSU arranged for this blending of high technology with the art of poetry. The demonstration was a success.
The Poetry Slam was hosted by the Pig Iron Literary and Art Works, another downtown tenant.
