Title: Rite Aid, Boardman Plaza
Post by: YSUalum on February 21, 2005, 06:05:05 AM
Can anyone speak to the rumor that Rite Aid is tearing down part of the Boardman Plaza in order to build a typical "big-box" store?  I was told yesterday that the area from the Exotic Bird store to just before Michaels was being destroyed so that a new Rite Aid can be built on that spot.  (In other words, Michaels and everything to the west will remain, east to the street will be torn down.)

Isn't anyone else outraged by this news?  I live in Youngstown, but frequent that area of the community too.  I'm not saying that the Boardman Plaza is a miracle of architecture, but there's something to be said for continuity of design and just saying NO to big box retailers.
