Title: What Is Going On Downtown
Post by: jay on May 21, 2018, 02:01:24 PM
I noticed recently that brush and trees were removed from the hillsides next to the arched bridge over Mahoning Avenue.   What is the nature of this project?  Is the arched bridge going to be removed?

Which one are you talking about. the one closest to the Spring Common Bridge, or the next one that they light up at night that is by WRTA?

It's the bridge between the Hopewell Theatre and the WRTA complex.

Didn't they light that arch up a year or so ago? That arch has always been a symbol of the West Side.

Today I noticed that heavy equipment and dump trucks were removing the earthen fill from the south side of the arched bridge.  This can be seen from Marshall Street.

Could just be wishful thinking, but maybe they're fixing the drainage system?
