The rain was steady today. I noticed in many places that the rain water is not going directly into the nearest storm sewer but is flowing over the road and going elsewhere.
An example of this is on South Schenley near Bears Den Road. Water is bypassing the storm sewer in front of the barber shop and then flowing across the Schenley/Bears Road intersection. The water then flows down the hill and finally enters a storm sewer near Number 15 Fire Station.
If it gets as cold tomorrow as predicted, this wet intersection could become very treacherous.
The water on the road could be hiding potholes.
When driving on water covered roads at night, it is impossible to know if a pothole is in a puddle.
